• Friday 31 January 2025 Play Leaders leading the way forward The Year 6 playtime leaders develop valuable skills such as communication, leadership and problem-solving, while setting a positive example for their peers. Their efforts contribute to a happier, more connected school community, making lunchtimes enjoyable for all. Well done!
• Wednesday 29 January 2025 Year 6 Basketball Team Shines in Tournament! Our Year 6 basketball team put on a fantastic performance at their recent tournament at Holly Lodge High School, showcasing great teamwork and determination. They played exceptionally well and celebrated a well-earned victory in one of their matches! The team finished 3rd overall!
• Wednesday 29 January 2025 CBSO Concert Our children had an exciting and interactive experience with the CBSO! At the event, Year 4 and Year 5 children were introduced to the world of music as they listened to live performances from the CBSO orchestra and engaged in lively discussions about the seven elements of music. Through fun activities and hands-on exploration, the children learned about sound, rhythm, melody, harmony, texture, form, and dynamics in a way that was both educational and enjoyable. With the help of the talented CBSO musicians, the young learners were encouraged to express their creativity, share their thoughts, and discover the magic of music in a vibrant and engaging environment. The day was full of laughter, learning, and moments of musical wonder that inspired the children to keep exploring and enjoying the world of sound!
• Wednesday 15 January 2025 Young Voices 2025 We are thrilled to announce that our Lodge school choir were absolutely amazing performing at the Young Voices 2025 concert at BP Pulse Birmingham on 15th January! Young Voices is the world’s largest school choir concert, bringing together thousands of young singers for an unforgettable evening of music, energy, and inspiration. Our Lodge choir ( consisting of year 4,5,6 children) have been working incredibly hard, rehearsing a fantastic setlist, and on Wednesday 15th January they performed. This was a magical experience for both our choir and their families. We even manged to spot our parents in the audience! Thank you for all your support!
• Wednesday 15 January 2025 WBA Football tournament The children did incredibly well in the EFL Football Cup, showing great effort and determination throughout the event. They tried their hardest in every match, demonstrating excellent teamwork and sportsmanship. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and commitment on the pitch. Well done!!!
• Friday 13 December 2024 Lodge Choir Brings Joy to Goldfield Court! Lodge Choir recently gave their first live performance at Goldfield Court, and it was a truly special occasion! Local residents enjoyed a heartwarming afternoon of music and even had the chance to chat with some of our talented children. To make it even more memorable, they joined in with some of our lively medleys, creating a wonderful sense of community and connection through song. Here's to many more performances like this!
• Monday 25 November 2024 Ready to Rock and Roll  Get ready to rock and roll with numbers! Our TT Rockstar Concert was an electrifying event where children battled it out using their math skills on TT Rockstars and Numberbots.
• Wednesday 13 November 2024 Year 6 Explore Careers and Creativity at Wolverhampton University Our Year 6 children recently visited Wolverhampton University for an inspiring day focused on career aspirations and an introduction to further education. The experience included a fascinating campus tour, where pupils got a glimpse of university life and its opportunities.
• Monday 11 November 2024 Outdoor reading We’re excited to introduce our brand-new Outdoor Reading Area, designed to inspire a love of reading for pleasure. Nestled in a sheltered corner of the school grounds, this cozy and inviting space provides the perfect environment for children to immerse themselves in books.

• Wednesday 9 October 2024 Library Launch We were thrilled to launch our fantastic new Lodge library with a visit from Pep the Poet! Pep held exciting poetry workshops with classes across school. The children were inspired by his creative word play and lively performances. After school, Pep kindly took the time to sign books for parents and pupils making the day extra special.

• Monday 2 September 2024 Making a Splash: Year 4 and 5 Swimming Lessons At our school, we are committed to helping every child develop essential life skills, and swimming is no exception. Our Year 4 and 5 children are diving into weekly swimming lessons with enthusiasm and determination. These sessions not only teach vital water safety skills but also build confidence, resilience, and teamwork. We're proud to see our pupils making great progress and fostering a love for swimming that will last a lifetime.

• Monday 15 July 2024 Lodge Enterprise Challenge - Cultural Workshops countries participating in the Olympics. Children had the exciting opportunity to choose from a variety of workshops including photo frame crafting, sand art, diamond feather bookmark making, cross-stitch keyring creation, badge making, cultural tag designing, glass decorating, and jewellery making. Each workshop was designed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of different nations, encouraging our young learners to explore and appreciate diversity through art and crafts.

• Thursday 11 July 2024 Sports Day 2024 This year's Oak House Sports Day was an exhilarating mix of fun, competition, and community spirit. With the sun shining bright and a slight breeze providing perfect weather, the event kicked off to an enthusiastic start. From the moment our children arrived, they were excited to participate with their team mates. Our children really embodied our school values of resilience and team work. Go Lodge! A huge thank you to Mr Phillpott for organising such an amazing event.
• Tuesday 9 July 2024 French Day 2024 On Tuesday 9th July, children across the school celebrated French Day as part of our Olympic Cultural Festival Launch. The Olympics are being held in Paris this year. Our lunch menu included French foods for our pupils to try! Children across different year groups had the opportunity to learn at different landmarks in France and create art work linked to famous places and monuments. A specialist dance teacher helped our KS1 learn dances related to France and in KS2 the dance teacher taught range of a international dance movements based on the year group's chosen Olympic countries. Year 5 had a brilliant time learning the Haka and Brazilian Samba dance.

• Wednesday 26 June 2024 Girls Football Tournament 2024 Well done to our Year 5 and 6 girls who were part of a Sandwell Girls Football Tournament at the West Bromwich Albion training ground. They represented Lodge Primary well by winning one of their games, drawing two and only losing once. Congratulations to all of our goalscorers, Nicole, Muskaan and Sienna!
